Phony advertising is the utilization of misleading, phony, or unproven information to market products to consumers or advertising that will not disclose its source. One form of bogus advertising is to declare that something has a health advantage or contains vitamin supplements or minerals so it in fact will not. Many government authorities use regulations to regulate bogus advertising. A bogus ad can further be labeled as deceptive if the marketer deliberately misleads the buyer, instead of making a genuine mistake.
