Traffic lights, also called traffic indicators, traffic bulbs, traffic semaphore, sign lights, stop lamps, robots (in South Africa and almost all of Africa), and traffic control alerts (in complex parlance), are signalling devices placed at highway intersections, pedestrian crossings, and other locations to regulate moves of traffic.
